FFVII: Voices of the Lifestream

As a long time fan of Overclocked Remix, I thought it would be appropriate to do a mention of their latest release. For those of you who do not know, Overclocked Remix (OCR) is a web site dedicated to high quality "Remixes" and "Re-Arrangements" of all varieties of video game music. Not to be taken away from the fact that it is "Video Game Music", the point of OCR is to show the true musicianship that goes into writing such music. With everything from fully orchestrated symphonies, to hard trance, to hillbilly rodeo music... OCR has an awesome selection of Nostalgic music for all fans.

Now onto the main subject... "Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream". I'll just take the main excerpt from the main page.

“ Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream is an OverClocked ReMix Album featuring free fan arrangements from the soundtrack to Square's legendary Final Fantasy VII for the Sony Playstation. From jazz to techno to rock to classical, it features over forty five tracks from over forty artists, each interpreting composer Nobuo Uematsu's works in their own unique style. ”

I highly recommend checking this out. Download the Torrent, Seed it, Digg the page, and maybe even write about this in your own blog. Heck, I am going to be writing an article later today about a ticket I got, but I put this down as a priority on top of that. So take my word, OCR hasn't let met down yet, and I don't plan on it happening any time soon. Also, if you are really bored, check out some of my remixes on the site. They are titled under the remixer "Nex". Of course, this was many years ago so they are... well, alright. Check out OCR!

Edit: After getting a chance to listen to the whole thing, I would  definitely say this is a must for anyone who is remotely interested in this kind of music - and even if this isn't your normal cup of tea... it is definitely worth a listen. With everything from jazz ballads, club, rock, and classical - there is something everyone can get out of this. "bLiNd" and his tracks just blew me away, "A Life Without Parole" by Dhsu is a captivating piano arrangement, and all of it's subtle nuances are impeccable. The most unique track for me would be "Alien Exploration" by Trenthian. With a rock-reggae feel mixed with folk music, it stands out (in a good way) from the other tracks. This will be a collection that will be on my iPod for awhile to come.

This is a test

I am writing this in Windows Live Writer. This is just a sample document to see how well it works versus the standard blogger posting system.

I actually am liking this quite a bit... very simple and straight forward.

About David Bradbury

Now the real challenge in writing an "About" page... What do you put? First you need to make sure the visitor feels welcomed, so...

Welcome!

Next, I need to figure out a way of introducing myself, and the web site without saying my name a billion times. Lets see...

Hello there, I am David Bradbury and this is my web site with the same name.

Alright, now that we've got that awkward introduction out of the way, lets go onto what this site is about, then we'll hit on a few things about me and then finish up with reasons to why you should continue visiting!

Passion

That's what this site is in one word. This is an outlet for me to put all of my creativity into one web site. I'm an avid musician, I love drawing and the like, and I get great enjoyment out of writing and programing (no matter how poor it may be!). This site allows me to not only put all of it in one place, but share it with other people around the world.

Among the sections to share my works, there is also other sections which include helpful resources, and personal tutorials I've written to help those out there who would like to further explore their creativity in applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, and other various software.

Another section would be the store. As a college student, (as we will get to in a moment) saving money for tuition and books are always a challenge. I've decided to include a store as well where you are currently able to buy various clothing and the like, and in the future, I hope to expand it to programs and commission work as well. Now while I don't expect a ton from it... every penny helps!

A student

I'm currently traveling over the mountainous pass known as college. Currently I am working on my Masters in Music Education and attaining my Teaching Certificate. It has been an enjoyable trip so far, but of course, it has had its various challenges - usually involving my car breaking down and suddenly being $700 out, or balancing a job that wants me to work 30 hours+ while doing 22 credits. All normal stuff though. As far as the job goes, I've strayed away from that this year so that should be a bit easier. Now it's just simply getting homework sorted out (never been too good at that) and finding money for tuition! If you are actually reading this, you've probably already read the part above about the store, but if you do have a need for another T-shirt or the like, check it out!

Why Subscribe?

There are many reasons I could give. I could talk about how "Fantastic" this site is and all of that; But frankly, there aren't very many real reasons at all. If this web site interests you in any way, please do check it out every once in awhile! I've tried to make this as accessible as possible to a range of interests so if there is any part that you enjoy, show your support! Digg the main page, add it to your del.icio.us or other social network. Bookmark, or heck, tell a friend or someone you think might like my random stuff about it.

I appreciate your time and if you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me at - DavidMBradbury AT gmail
